"The driving line that propels these two long pieces is the clear affinity amongst the group for mixing
acoustic and electric elements and extending the physical possibilities of their instruments. It is not
always clear which instrument is which, or from whence a musical idea originates. What is clear,
however, is the group’s focus on the musical possibilities of form and interaction. Covering a range of
sonic territories and densities, the pieces evolve and fluctuate, at times surprisingly. The beautiful hand-
crafted CD package is an initial invitation to listen closely to the clarity and definition of the recording. Montreal-based Sound of the Mountain (Elizabeth Millar & Craig Pedersen) met Japanese improvised
music pioneers Tetuzi Akiyama and Toshimaru Nakamura in Tokyo in 2017. The release of this recording coincides with a Canada-wide tour from October 9 to November 1, 2019." - M&W
